In 2011 VorOtek launched the VorOtek LED HeadLight, providing Surgical Quality LED Illumination with complete freedom and mobility.
LED illumination is replacing fibre optic lighting systems. The intensity & quality of the illumination is matched and not being tethered by a fibre optic cable or power lead is a major innovation & benefit.
The VorOtek LED HeadLight range is head worn (hands free), light weight and compact, emphasizing simplicity, durability and comfort. It is available in two models – the original fixed spot size VorOtek LED Headlight and the new VorOtek X-Series HeadLight adjustable spot size Surgical LED Headlight featuring VorOtek’s Dynamic Illumination System.

VorOtek X-Series Headlight – Adjustable Surgical Quality LED HeadLight
- Dynamic Illumination System – VorOtek’s Dynamic Illumination System allows the user to adjust both the spot size and illumination intensity by simply rotating the lens housing. The result is a dramatic increase in light intensity at the smallest spot size.
- Adjustable Spot Size – The spot size can be adjusted infinitely between 50mm and 95mm at 400mm from the front lens. (see Figure 1 below)
- Surgical Quality LED Illumination – VorOtek’s compound lens system and LED technology produces:-
- Light intensity from 90,000 lux up to a brilliant 150,000 lux
- Colour temperature of 5,700 Degrees Kelvin
- Colour Rendering Index of CRI 75
- Homogenous edge-to-edge uniformity
- Coaxial LED Illumination – The illumination can be adjusted to align with the individuals visual pathway, allowing shadow free illumination of the surgical field of view.
- Dimmable LED Illumination – The dimmer function provides 8 evenly spaced levels of illumination (essential for eye procedures) with easy to read LCD display.
- The VorOtek Power Pack (Lithium Ion) provides 7hrs to >20hrs of ‘on time’ depending on the level of illumination selected.

- Fixed spot size of 95mm at 400mm
- Colour temperature of 5,700 Degrees Kelvin
- Colour Rendering Index of CRI 75
- Superior edge-to-edge uniformity across the entire field of illumination.
- Coaxial LED Illumination – The illumination can be adjusted to align with the individuals visual pathway, allowing shadow free illumination of the surgical field of view.
